IMT Products/IMT100/200 Series PegThey say that necessity is the mother of invention and that’s certainly the case with the Jac-Knife Highway Peg (Patent No: US 7,497,291 B1). The idea came with the purchase of my first Road King Classic back in 2001. I wanted highway pegs that looked good, functioned like they should, and then disappeared into the background when I was done with them so they didn’t stick out like sore thumbs. Conventional highway pegs hard mount to either the powder coated frame or to the chrome engine guard. They damage the surfaces they mount to and you can’t get rid of them when not in use. The 10 hour ride home from Sturgis was all the incentive I needed to come up with a better idea. It was either learn to ride standing up so I could stretch or go to work on the floorboards. I came up with the Jac-Knife peg (Patent No: US 7,497,291 B1) as a result and my insurance agent was pleased that I was going to remain on the seat while riding. |
